Hosted by Women Leaders in College Sports, the Executive Leadership Track is an executive-level program held in conjunction with the 2019 Women Leaders National Convention. This one-day program on Monday, October 14, is designed for women at top leadership levels in athletics, business, or entrepreneurship. Don't miss your chance to access high-level leaders, grow your network, and expand your knowledge. Elevate your leadership skills, get inspired, and raise your game as an industry influencer through this leadership track!
All registered participants will receive a copy of Lindsey Pollak's book, The Remix. 

Registration

Registration for the Executive Leadership Track is available two ways:

  1. Purchase as a program add-on for current members already attending the National Convention. When registering for the National Convention, you may add the Executive Leadership Track on to your registration for an additional fee of $150.
  2. Purchase as a stand-alone program for any woman, member, or non-member, interested in attending the Executive Leadership Track only for $550 (National Convention registration not included). When registering for the National Convention, select "Executive Leadership Track only."

Online registration for the Executive Leadership Track opens June 24. On-site registration will be available on Monday morning, October 14, pending space availability.

Mi-Ai Parrish

Topic: Leading Change During Challenging Times

Previously, she was president and publisher of USA TODAY NETWORK Arizona, The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com. She served as president and publisher of the Kansas City Star and kansascity.com for four years and president and publisher of Idaho's largest media company for five years prior to that. She was a journalist for 15 years, ranging from the Chicago Sun-Times, San Francisco Chronicle, The Arizona Republic, (Minneapolis) Star-Tribune and Virginian-Pilot.

Parrish is the recipient of the 2017 Athena Businesswoman of the Year, 2017 Asian Corporate and Entrepreneur Leader Champion, 2016 PSA Behavioral Health Champion and winner of Best Opinion Writing for USA TODAY NETWORK.

She is an award-winning writer and international speaker. Her commentaries on the First Amendment and leadership have reached millions worldwide and been covered by international media. She serves as secretary of Greater Phoenix Leadership, vice-chairwoman of Banner Health Foundation and on numerous other boards.

Parrish was the first female publisher of the Kansas City Star, the first Korean-American publisher in mainstream media and the first minority to serve as publisher of The Arizona Republic.

Lindsey Pollak

Lindsey Pollak is the leading expert on Millennials and the multigenerational workplace. Her new book, The Remix: How to Lead and Succeed in the Multigenerational Workplace, published by HarperCollins is available now.

She is a New York Times bestselling author and her keynote speaking audiences have included Citi, Estee Lauder, GE, JP Morgan, LinkedIn, PwC, Shearman & Sterling, Yale, Harvard and Stanford.

Pollack is a graduate of Yale University.

 


Van Adams

Van Adams is the principal owner of the VanAdams Sports Group, a certified woman and  minority-owned business specializing in leveraging the power of sports and entertainment to drive revenue and increase brand awareness. Since the inception of the VanAdams Sports Group in 2004, Van has represented a number of iconic sports celebrities by executing successful marketing campaigns for their personal brands and business ventures. She has produced upscale live events and managed numerous activations for athlete and corporate clients in Super Bowl, MLB, and NBA All-Star cities across the nation.
 
As an advocate for women in business, Van is the founder and producer of Gathering on the Greens®, an initiative that provides women an opportunity to learn how to leverage golf for business and increase their professional development and networking opportunities.
 
Van is a founding board member of the NYC Metro Chapter of Women in Sports and Events (WISE) where she currently serves as Chapter President spearheading strategy and programming activities to fulfill the organization’s national mission of being the voice and resource for professional women in sports business. Under her leadership, the chapter’s membership increased exponentially. She was the catalyst for three signature programs becoming national programs replicated across WISE chapters in the U.S. and Canada. Recently, Van’s leadership efforts earned a Proclamation from the Office of the Mayor of New York City.
 
Throughout her career, Van has received many notable awards and recognition including the Top 25 Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners award, the prestigious selection to facilitate the Beyond The Greens initiative at the 97th PGA Championship, and being named Super Bowl Business Connect certified vendor with keynote presenter and marketing expert status for the program. Van continues to implement authentic, high-energy solutions for her elite clientele and frequently hosts events for the small business community, focusing on marketing- and business- related topics.
 
At the onset of her career, Van worked with the highly celebrated Tiger Football and Baseball programs at her alma mater, Grambling State University in Louisiana. Prior to founding the VanAdams Sports Group, Van held key positions in prominent organizations such as United  States Golf Association, Sports Illustrated, and the Buffalo Bills.
 
A former graduate level adjunct professor of sports marketing, Van routinely appears on camera, in publications, and as a media contributor for outlets such as NJ Biz, PGA.com, NFL Player Engagement Chief Marketer, espnW, FOX-NY, Sirius XM, The Network Journal and WFAN/CBS Sports.
 
Van earned a B.S. in Biology/Pre-Med and a M.S. in Sports Administration from Grambling State University, and an Executive Leadership Certificate from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. In her spare time, you can find Van working on recipe development in a test kitchen or working on her short game on a golf course.
