I have had the opportunity to chase my dreams while receiving an unforgettable education at the University of Miami.

How have the athletic and academic opportunities afforded to you because of Title IX impacted your life? Can you imagine your life without them?

Having the opportunity to participate in sport has allowed me to gain access to mentors and friends I would have never met. The relationship and time shared are priceless.

Tell us about a woman who championed you in pursuing your goals. How did her influence inspire or affect you and your career?

My head track and field coach Amy Deem (University of Miami) has been coaching men long before she was recognized. Today she is one of the few females overseeing a male and female program! Also, Dianthia Ford-Kee (AD at Mississippi Valley) was one of the first female athletic directors I ever met. She has always been forward-thinking and upbeat. I have always enjoyed watching her career and hope I have some of her leadership characteristics.

How are you continuing to champion the next generation of women and girls in sports, and raise awareness on the importance Title IX?

Today I am able to empower my own student-athletes to chase their dream in sport and in life!
