Kansas City, Mo. – Women Leaders in College Sports and NFL Executive Scott Pioli announced today the "Scott, Dallas and Mia Pioli Family Endowed HBCU Scholarship." This marks the organization's first endowment and it comes at a historical milestone for the organization as Women Leaders celebrates its 40th Anniversary.

Scott Pioli, a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, has served as a lifelong mentor and champion of women working in sports. "We have been connected with our good friend Patti Phillips and the organizational leadership team of Women Leaders in College Sports for years. I've worked alongside them as they have invested in, mentored, and prepared so many qualified women for leadership opportunities," said Scott Pioli. "We are hopeful this endowment will help encourage and propel women from historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) to influential roles within the industry of college sports and beyond."

In support of the Women Leaders Women of Color Initiative, the "Scott, Dallas and Mia Pioli Family HBCU Scholarship" will be awarded to one Women Leaders member per year who demonstrates commitment to intercollegiate athletics and have a desire to advance in athletic administration. This scholarship will be awarded to a woman working in athletics at an HBCU or who graduated from an HBCU.

"Our family considers it an honor and a privilege to endow this fund and to continue our partnership with Women Leaders in College Sports," said Dallas Pioli, wife of Scott Pioli.

"Scott has been a dear friend of mine and male champion to this organization for many years. I am incredibly grateful to him and his family for creating our first endowed scholarship," said CEO of Women Leaders in College Sports Patti Phillips. "The Scott, Dallas and Mia Pioli Family Endowed HBCU Scholarship will ensure long-term sustainability for a convention scholarship that directly supports women in our organization from HBCUs."

Scholarship includes a one-year Women Leaders in College Sports membership and one National Convention registration, including travel and lodging.
