Women Leaders Podcast, Episode 30: Carmen Ambar

Presented by:

We’re so thrilled you can listen to Patti Phillips’ conversation with President Carmen Ambar, the first African American and second female president in Oberlin College’s 184-year history. She, quite frankly, blew us away!

Patti and President Ambar talked about the role higher education and the arts played in her family growing up, the leadership skills she gained as an assistant corporate council in the New York City law department, and how she’s making an impact in her current, high-profile position. Throughout her career, President Ambar has been on the forefront of promoting diversity and inclusion—we took away so much while talking to her about this.

President Ambar also reminds us how important it is that athletic directors help college presidents understand the valuable role athletics plays on campus, and how we should all help each other take risks—not to be afraid of them.
