Why did you join Women Leaders in College Sports?

I found out from my supervisor about Women Leaders in College Sports and she is an advocate for Women’s Empowerment, so I felt that this would be a great way to connect with like minded women. In addition, I wanted to find women who are my age and hope to make a difference in the world.

Who would you recommend following on social media?

@kashmirviii on Instagram, she is an artist and I love her work! She motivates me to become a better artist and entrepreneur.
@kelsierochellemoore  and @randirossario are both on Instagram. They motivate me to keep pushing and stay positive when things get hard.

What is one way you're looking forward to challenging yourself this year?

I am actually challenging myself this year to do 10 things outside of my comfort zone. So far, I'm at 4!

  • I flew on a plane by myself to Indianapolis, IN!
  • I want to travel more and so far I have been to Indianapolis, IN for the NCAA Emerging Leaders’ Summit, Virginia Beach and Myrtle Beach.
  • I gained more clients for my business! If you need any graphics, photos, videos, or paintings feel free to follow me on Instagram @_aliyajana
  • I found love!

Coffee or Tea?

I love both, but I definitely could go for a caramel frappe!

What is your favorite quote?

I really love quotes! My top two include:
"Trust the Process"
"Never chase what you want. Elevate your game until your wants chase you"

What are some of your bucket list items?

  • Work for the NFL doing photography or graphics
  • Travel to New Orleans and Tahiti
  • Attend a Jazmine Sullivan Concert

Who is your #BecauseOf? Who helped you become the rock-star leader you are today?

I am who I am #BecauseOf my parents. Both have been very supportive of my decisions and rarely missed any of my games. They push me to be a better person and stay positive.
