The University of Hartford, a Division I Institution, a member of the America East Conference, invites applications for Assistant/Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. This is a full-time, 12-month position with competitive salary and benefits. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, development, oversight, training and maintenance of a comprehensive NCAA Division I, America East Conference (Big Sky for Men’s Golf & MAAC for Women’s Golf) and institutional compliance program for the University of Hartford.
Serves as the primary institutional liaison regarding NCAA compliance efforts. Provides direct oversight for the Department of Athletics’ NCAA compliance functions. Oversees the coordination and delivery of compliance-related activities, prioritizing student-athlete services and support; reporting efficiencies as well as monitoring and maintaining accurate compliance data.
Oversees the review and evaluation of initial academic eligibility and continuing academic eligibility for student-athletes. Identifies, reports and/or addresses compliance infractions with senior institutional administrators as necessary and/or appropriate.
Coordinates, prepares, leads and presents monthly compliance education training classes on a full range of NCAA rules and regulations for coaches, administrators, student-athletes, regents, donors and booster groups.
Oversees the utilization and operation of the institutional compliance software system in an effort to ensure that all coaches, staff and administrators are up-to-date on how to operate the systems and properly monitor functional usage.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Three years of successful collegiate compliance experience in NCAA Division I preferred. Possession of excellent interpersonal and communications skills, as well as organizational skills and training experience. Successful applicants will demonstrate commitment to the academic goals of the university and to the academic success and graduation of the student-athletes.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
