Job Description
The next Harold Alfond Director of Athletics will oversee 32 intercollegiate sports – 16 sports for women, 15 for men, and one co-ed team – as well as all club and intramural sports. The Director must be committed to Division III athletics at the highest level of excellence, to advancing Colby’s mission, values and goals, and to providing visionary, creative, and decisive leadership.  Reporting to the provost, the Director will be expected to guide and mentor coaches as well as other athletics staff members with an unwavering commitment to enhancing the student-athlete experience and success of the entire athletics program. The Director also serves as the department’s primary representative in interactions with other leaders on campus. In this role, the Director will articulate the athletics department’s vision and strategy, listen closely to the perspectives of others in identifying opportunities to expand the impact of Colby Athletics across the country, and maintain an unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion. 
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and have had previous supervisory experience to be considered for this position.
