Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director - External Affairs

The Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director, Marketing and Communications, will be responsible for the oversight and development and maintenance of corporate partnerships, communications, marketing, multi-media, video broadcasting, merchandise sales, game attendance and in-game promotions for the Department of Athletics.
Primary responsibilities include:
a) Generating revenues through sponsorship packages (including sales of video-board presence, venue signage, radio, television and print advertising, game day sponsorships and promotional opportunities), webcast subscriptions, ticket sales, and merchandising.
b) Creating and implementing the department's overall marketing and promotional strategy.
c) Overseeing the creation and execution of live athletic video productions and the design, pre and post production and distribution of Athletics video content.
d) Developing strategies for improving attendance and the overall fan experience at home events.
e) Managing department communications with a specific focus on media relations, pre and post game stories, the department website, social media and branding strategy.
f) Providing oversight of the department's annual gift and leadership gift efforts. Assist the Athletics Director in the tracking and reporting of all development efforts including annual giving, leadership gifts, major gifts and planned giving.
g) Significant involvement in overall departmental strategic planning
A bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree strongly preferred. Candidate should have at least five years of related experience in marketing, promotions, corporate sales, developing technologies, video and audio broadcasting and merchandising as well as demonstrated success in generating new revenues. Candidate must have good organizational, written and oral communication, and time management skills; and the ability to take on multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting. Candidate must have experience in managing a large staff. Must also be available to travel for certain special events and be willing to work nights and weekends depending on the game schedules for particular sports.
