Job Summary:
The Executive Director of Development of Intercollegiate Athletics is a senior professional who works collaboratively with the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Athletics colleagues, external relations colleagues and University Advancement (UA) to lead specific development funding opportunities of Intercollegiate Athletics as assigned and secure significant philanthropic investments to support them. The primary activity of the Executive Director of Development is externally focused to secure private philanthropic support and the Executive Director of Development's effectiveness will be evaluated on the ability to achieve financial goals and meet metrics. The Executive Director of Development reports to the Vice Chancellor, University Advancement with a dotted line to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The Executive Director of Development is expected to be a highly collaborative colleague with other Development and advancement officers across the campus.

Bachelor's degree and seven to ten years successful professional development and/or fundraising related experience, preferably in higher education OR, any equivalent combinations of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved. Five years of development experience must have been in major gifts Athletics fundraising. Master's degree preferred.
Experience-based knowledge of principles and practices of fundraising for a comprehensive research university
