The Associate Athletic Director for Financial Operations performs professional management accounting and administrative services for the athletics department. The Associate Athletic Director for Financial Operations is responsible for all fiscal matters concerning the athletics department on a day-to-day basis and provides competent fiscal management within the athletics program. The position implements and formulates fiscal controls and policies to ensure compliance with University, State, MIAA and NCAA rules and regulations
The position approves, verifies and provides oversight on the processing of all financial transactions for the athletics department including the review of revenues, disbursements, reconciliations and other financial analyses. Monitors, audits, reviews and corrects any fiscal management need of the Department of Athletics as requested by the Director of Athletics and other University administrative personnel. Maintains, identifies, prepares and verifies data in order to prepare financial reports required by the NCAA, MIAA and other athletic associations and affiliations, primarily, the annual NCAA revenue and expenditures report and the Equity in Athletics (EADA) report. The position also prepares and reviews all game contracts and identifies funds for expenditures regarding contracts and projects use of guarantee revenue.
Assists in preparation and management of the overall intercollegiate athletics financial operating plan including monthly and quarterly reconciliation of revenues and expenses at the individual sport level as well as departmental level. Develops, updates and maintains departmental business operations and a budget policies and procedures manual.
