Responsibilities: Supervise and manage the Office of Athletic Communications and Events to include oversight of two full-time staff members (assistant director of athletic communications and events manager) and a large student staff; coordination of communication regarding all facets of the intercollegiate athletic program; management of department website and all social media and video outlets; dissemination of press releases and feature stories; maintain team records and archives; and coordinate nominations for all awards and academic honors for student-athletes, teams, coaches and staff.
The events manager, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications and Events, is responsible for all facets of intercollegiate event operations including scheduling of professional and student staff; ensure that game coverage, including web streaming, audio and live stats is optimal; work with game administrator to ensure appropriate crowd control measures; communicate with visiting teams and fans as needed prior to, during and after each event to ensure a first class experience; and set up and break down of facility.
Serve as a member of the athletic department’s senior management team. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
