Job Description
The Assistant Director will assist in all aspects of conference operations with emphasis on all sports information activities. The Assistant Director will be expected to write and publish weekly reports and press releases; maintain and update the conference website on a daily basis; disseminate conference news utilizing social media; coordinate, publish, and submit conference statistics to conference constituents, media outlets, and the NCAA; respond to inquiries from member institutions; manage the conference honors and awards program; promote students-athletes and members for regional and national awards; assist in the marketing and promotion of the conference brand; and coordinate meetings of the conference Sports Information Directors. Additional duties include working with the conference student-athlete advisory committee, attending conference administrative meetings; assisting with administration of conference championships; representing the conference at designated championships; and assisting with conference scheduling. Travel and some night and weekend work is required. 

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess strong writing, editing, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and must be able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years  experience in collegiate sports publicity, public relations, athletics administration, or related field required. Must be proficient in computer software programs including Word, Excel, Stat Crew for all conference sports, and have full competency with the entire Microsoft Office package.  Experience with Presto, video and editing software a plus. Knowledge of NCAA rules preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
