Jessica Welk joined Women Leaders in College Sports in March 2020. Before Women Leaders, she was the NCAA and Club Assistant Manager at USA Triathlon (USAT). While at USAT, Jessica oversaw all retention efforts for age-group clubs and the daily operations of women's varsity triathlon, the NCAA deemed triathlon an Emerging Sport for Women in 2014. Here, Jessica managed the funding distribution of $3.5 million for the USA Triathlon Women's Triathlon Emerging Sport Grant and served as the primary staff liaison for the College Triathlon Coaches Association. She also collaborated with USA Triathlon's Chief Sport Development Officer, Tim Yount, to develop recruitment documents and presentations for institutions.
Before USAT, she earned her master's degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership at the University of Washington. She is a proud alumna of Smith College, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology. As an undergraduate, she was a four-year member of the basketball team and, as a senior, served as a captain.
