Tell Us Your #BecauseofTitleIX Story!

We are so excited to launch our #BecauseofTitleIX campaign, which honors the 45th anniversary of Title IX’s passage and celebrates more than four decades of female participation in high school and college sports!

Every week day for 45 days (until June 23), we’ll feature a Women Leaders member who, because of Title IX, has benefited personally and professionally. Here on our website, we’ll feature a Q&A profile in which each woman explains how the academic and athletic opportunities afforded to her because of Title IX have impacted her life, how other women have influenced her throughout her career, and how she’s paying that forward by championing other women and girls in sports.

On social media (fb.com/WomenLeadersCS, and @WomenLeadersCS on Twitter and Instagram), we’ll share images of our members playing athletics as a kid, in high school, or in college; or with the women and girls she now champions; or with the person who championed her athletic, academic, and professional pursuits.

Among the 45 Women Leaders we’re featuring are Chris Plonsky, women’s athletics director and executive senior associate athletics director at the University of Texas; Vicky Chun, vice president and director of athletics at Colgate University and president of Women Leaders in College Sports; Kiki Baker Barnes, director of athletics at Dillard University; Amy Backus, director of athletics at Case Western Reserve University; and Noreen Morris, commissioner of the Northeast Conference.

We want to know your #BecauseofTitleIX story, too! Share your story on social media and be sure to tag us at @WomenLeadersCS!
