I had the opportunity to play sports throughout my life, go to college, play Division I women's basketball, and be awarded a scholarship.

How have the athletic and academic opportunities afforded to you because of Title IX impacted your life? Can you imagine your life without them?

I would not have had the chance to go to college, play Division I women's basketball and receive an athletics scholarship. Without those transformative experiences, I would not have become the person I am today.

Tell us about a woman who championed you in pursuing your goals. How did her influence inspire or affect you and your career?

My siblings and I grew up with our mom spending time playing football, basketball, softball, and kickball with us. She made sure we played in leagues, drove us to games, kept score, and was our biggest champion. She made sure we had the chance to play, because she did not.

How are you continuing to champion the next generation of women and girls in sports, and raise awareness on the importance Title IX?

I take advantage of any and every opportunity to educate on where we are and what we are still fighting for.
