Kansas City, Mo.—Women Leaders in College Sports (Women Leaders) is proud to announce its partnership collaboration with adidas as the title sponsor of their Women of Color (WOC) Commitment. This powerful collaboration reflects both Women Leaders and adidas' unwavering commitment to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) for women working in college sports and beyond.
The Women of Color Commitment was born from the organization’s commitment to provide a platform for Women Leaders members to connect, address issues specific to women of color, and support one another. The programming and goals of the WOC Commitment is now infused into everything that the organization does.
"This is a core commitment for our organization and one we are always looking to enhance and elevate,” stated Patti Phillips, CEO of Women Leaders in College Sports. “With the support and partnership of adidas we will be able to elevate our impact and work jointly to enhance the support and resources available.”
The year-long alignment will allow adidas to add value to the Women of Color Member Circle, a virtual member community dedicated to connecting and supporting Women of Color, through programming and resources. Adidas and Women Leaders will also bring the commitment to life at the Women of Color Conversation Breakfast at the 2023 Women Leaders National Convention in New Orleans on October 9th.
Additionally, as part of the partnership, adidas will also sponsor seven National Convention registration scholarships that will be allocated specifically to women of color within the Women Leaders membership.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has always been a competitive differentiator in adidas, particularly in their support and partnerships with diverse athletes and marginalized communities. This partnership brings together two organizations with a strong focus on their DE&I initiatives, including adidas’ “Commitment to Impact.”
